IDSS是由江南大学，同济大学，印度的National Institute of Design 和 Srishti Institute of Art、Design and Technology，瑞士的Zurich University of the Arts五所大学联合发起，关注社会发展中传统与现代的关系，并以设计的方法提出解决方案为主旨的设计夏令营。每年在五所大学的所在地举办，在学生参与夏令营的同时，也可以领略当地的风土人情。在中国，瑞士，印度的师生交流中体验多元文化的合作方式，并寄希望于通过各文化的相互学习和碰撞，激发出创意灵感。有兴趣的同学可在学院网站上搜索历届IDSS活动内容。
