罗赞·萨玛森，是美国罗德岛设计学院的校长，她创办罗德岛家具设计系，并长期担当教务长等教学和管理职务，世界艺术与设计教育有远见的领导者，美国家具设计与木工学科的重要代表人物，具有很强的学术和产业影响力。作为家具设计师和木匠，她长期经营自己的“罗赞·萨玛森家具”工作室，并亲手设计与制作，是美国工作室家具学派的领军人物之一，著有《关键创造的艺术：罗得岛设计学院的创造性实践》 ，她的作品广泛收藏于史密森尼美国艺术博物馆等世界著名展馆。

About the Speaker:

Rosanne Somerson, President of Rhode Island School of Design, professor and founder of RISD Furniture Design department. Well regarded as a visionary leader in art and design education, she has served as the RISD provost for years before her presidency. Rosanne Somerson is an American woodworker, furniture designer/maker. As a leading figure in American studio furniture field, she has maintained a professional studio practice, Rosanne Somerson Furniture since 1979. She is the co-editor of The Art of Critical Making: Rhode Island School of Design on Creative Practice. Her work has been exhibited internationally and collected by Smithsonian American Art Museum and many others.
