As the Lunar New Year approaches, Chinese Premier LI Qiang met with foreign experts who have won the 2025 Chinese Government Friendship Award and those working in China at the Great Hall of the People on the afternoon of February 13 for discussions and exchanges. Constantinos A Terzidis, professor from the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University and recipient of the 2025 Shanghai “Magnolia Gold Award”, attended the symposium as a representative of foreign experts working in China.

Premier LI Qiang extended warm new year greetings and sincere regards to the foreign experts, thanking them for their long-term support for China's modernization efforts, and earnestly listened to their opinions and suggestions on China's development and government work.

Professor Constantinos A Terzidis is a renowned scholar in the field of international algorithmic design and has awarded the ACADIA Innovative Research Award of Excellence, the highest honor in the field of computational design. He is also the initiator and head of the world's first laboratory exploring artificial intelligence art. Since joining the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University in 2017, he has brought new academic perspectives and valuable practices to Tongji's design discipline, providing innovative ideas for the discipline construction and talent cultivation in Shanghai. He actively promotes innovation in artificial intelligence education and supports the cultivation of scientific and technological talent in Shanghai.

Professor Constantinos A Terzidis is passionate about Chinese culture and has been deeply engaged in Shanghai's construction of a smart city. As a member of the “Shanghai International Design 100 Experts,” he has provided academic guidance for the upgrading of Shanghai's AI industry. Through international talent exchange platforms, he continues to bring his educational research and innovative practices at Tongji University and in Shanghai to the world. He was successively awarded the 2023 Shanghai “Magnolia Silver Award” and the 2025 Shanghai “Magnolia Gold Award”.
