On May 3, the first training course of "China Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors Education and Training Program", with its main theme "innovative design of traditional wood carving", formally initiated in College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University (D&I).
The training course was hosted by the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture, the Office of Public Culture at Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture Heritage, and the Division of Higher Education at Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, undertaken by D&I, and jointly organized by The Creative Industry and Culture Research Lab and the Shanghai International Master Training Center for Creative Industry, Tongji University (SIMTEC).
With an incorporation of D&I's advantageous resources both at home and abroad, the training course aimed at improving the inheritors' ability in innovative design and offering them an opportunity with which they could broaden their horizons and upgrade their skills.
