The "Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things Innovation Lab" of the School of Design and Innovation of Tongji University masters the core technologies of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things, and works with Huawei's communication technology and Internet of Things platform to build a highland for the development and comprehensive functionality of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technology, as well as a highland for technology realization, agglomeration, and transformation. 

Diao Zhifeng, the head of the laboratory, graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Ph.D. in electrical and electronic engineering, and is a postdoctoral fellow from the University of California, United States. He is currently a professor at Tongji University, establishing an artificial intelligence and Internet of Things innovation laboratory, cooperating with various research institutes and enterprises, and striving to build the integrated development of industry, university and research in the Internet of Things industry. He has worked at Huawei for 13 years, has 20 years of experience in the communications industry, and is the founder of the 5G NB-IoT industry. For three consecutive years (2017-2019), he won Huawei's President's Commendation, President's Individual Award, and Gold Medal Team Award. In recent years, he won the Kunshan Talent Award and Suzhou Gusu Talent Award in 2020, and the Jiangsu Provincial Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship Doctoral Talent Award in 2022.

Our research direction：

1. The laboratory will build a comprehensive application of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things test field, guide and assist small and medium-sized enterprises to quickly enter the field of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things, break through key application technologies and access Huawei's Internet of Things and artificial intelligence platform system, and use the joint partner platform plan to quickly provide services to customers and help the development of technology and industry.

2. The laboratory team focuses on the research and development of highly integrated 5G AIoT industry solution system-on-chips, promotes the process of module chipization and chip scenario, and promotes the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries such as gas, water, fire protection, lighting, and industrial Internet of Things.

3. The laboratory team provides services such as 5G communication and its application in intelligent networked vehicles and intelligent transportation, artificial intelligence and its image analysis application, innovative design and entrepreneurship based on information and communication technology.
