On March 17, 2017 D&I and Swinburne University of Technology hosted a workshop together. This workshop mainly focused on the hot topics of the industry of manufacturing. 40 students and teachers from Australia, UK, Malaysia, Thailand, Mainland China, and Taiwan participated in this workshop.

During the 14 days of this workshop, the participants carried out in-depth discussion about the manufacturing industry in China, the importance of innovative design, and development of original brand. At the same time they studied how to use scientific research methods in design research.

The cooperation between Tongji University and Swinburne University of Techonology in Australia in the area of design and innovation has been long and fruitful. This workshop has furthered the cooperation between the two parties and Tongji’s practice of internationalization in the school.
