Brief Introduction

Li, Xiaoye is a designer, and design theory researcher. He first obtained a bachelor's degree in Visual Communication Design from Shandong University, then studied in New York, USA, earning a second bachelor's degree in Photography and Video from the School of Visual Arts. He subsequently received a Master's degree in Art and Technology from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in Design from the Faculty of Humanities and Arts at Macau University of Science and Technology, where his doctoral dissertation received the highest score in the faculty's history.Li, Xiaoye focuses on creative work in the fields of digital media art, interactive art, creative programming, sound art, and mechanical art. He has extensive experience in graphic design, photography, video, and advertising, and has also conducted experimental explorations in bio-art, bio-design, social innovation, ecological design, and machine learning within interdisciplinary contexts.Currently, he is focusing on research in fundamental design theory, including using humanoid robots as research subjects to explore symbiosis and relationship issues between robots and humans, attempting to explain the boundaries between humans and machines. This particularly involves considering issues of mutual cognition, behavior, and feedback between humans and machines. He analyzes language patterns and dimensions from psychoanalytic and linguistic perspectives. Based on user behavior, he analyzes physical parameters, environmental recognition, and memory learning through motion capture devices. Drawing from cognitive theory, he addresses the issues of adaptability of humanoid robots and their affordance to humans. Following phenomenological principles, he achieves feedback to users from three aspects: practicality, emotionality, and spirituality.
