Post-doctoral Researcher
Brief Introduction
Jiang Jixiang’s research focuses on multi-design pathways leading to social innovation. Within the context of the Desis Lab (Design for Social Innovation and Sustainability) at Politecnico di Milano, this approach emphasizes the social impact generated through the integration of product and spatial design with service design. It highlights the contribution of co-design in engaging multiple stakeholders, especially marginalized groups.Building on this, Jiang Jixiang's Ph.D. research emphasizes how, in the face of today's environmental and ecological crises, non-human actors (such as plants and animals within natural ecosystems) can be included in collaborative city projects. His research particularly explores the significance of relational ontology, posthuman theory, and traditional Chinese cosmology in transforming design thinking.During his postdoctoral studies, his research focuses on how designers develop collaborative city projects from a dynamic systems perspective, further exploring how design interventions can foster pro-nature behaviors and consciousness within communities.
