Brief Introduction

Dr. Tao Shen currently serves as Assistant Research Fellow and Master's Supervisor at the College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University, and concurrently holds positions as Assistant Editor of She Ji: The Journal of Design, Economics, and Innovation and Co-Chair of the International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (HCII). He received his Ph.D. in Knowledge Science from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, specializing in interdisciplinary research spanning intelligent design, urban health science, and sustainable communities. His research focuses on leveraging advanced technologies including artificial intelligence, computer vision, and cognitive science to explore the mechanisms through which built environments influence residents' health and well-being, while developing data-driven intelligent design support systems. In recent years, he has led multiple national research projects funded by the Ministry of Education and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, publishing over 50 academic papers in prestigious international journals such as Design Studies, npj Heritage Science, and Automation in Construction. His research has made significant contributions to the fields of design science, intelligent construction, and community health. He has been honored with the Japan Society for the Science of Design Outstanding Design Research Award and the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Design Creativity.
