Assistant Research Fellow

Wang Yan graduated as B.Arch from Tongji University in 2004, later, as Msc Urbanism from TU Delft in 2006, then started urban and architecture practice in multiple companies of Shanghai and Shenzhen Urbanus for a long term. He graduated in Ph.D in Architecture History and Theory in Tongji University in 2018 for his thesis “Shenzhen Model - A study of Urban Development Model based on Edge City Theory”. 

He worked deeply with lots of brilliant clients and partner such as OCT, Wallex, Vanke, UPDIS, TJUPDI etc., proposing architectural strategies, urban design schemes, exhibitions, service schemes for development. Also, he worked as curator, founded we-media, as well as writer for academic magazines.

Now, he works in Tongji D&I as teacher and researcher, focusing on urban spatial-social study. He tends to push urban redevelopment in terms of urban renovation and social innovation through perspective of industrial-spatial research.
