Associate Professor

Brief Introduction

Weiwei Guo is an Associate Professor and PhD/Master’s Supervisor at Tongji University. He also serves as a Doctoral Supervisor at the Shanghai Research Institute for Intelligent Autonomous Systems and acts as the Chinese Liaison for the Tongji-MIT City Science Lab@Shanghai. He holds a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from the National University of Defense Technology (NUDT) and completed a joint Ph.D. program in Multimedia and Vision at Queen Mary University of London. He also conducted postdoctoral research at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Dr. Guo’s research focuses on integrating Artificial Intelligence and Human-Centered Design to enable computers, robots, and agents to autonomous act in complex, uncertain real-world environments, enhancing human well-being and sustainability

He has led numerous high-level projects, including the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Ministry of Science and Technology’s "Dragon Programme" (China-EU cooperation). He has published over 50 papers in flagship journals and conferences such as ECCV, CHI, IJCV, IEEE Trans. TIP, and TGRS.
