Associate Professor, Senior Adviser

Since September 2017, an Associate Professor and Senior Adviser with the College of D&I, Tongji University, responsible for the creative curriculum development with the Tongji-Huangpu School of Design & Innovation, a new initiative of the Tongji College of D&I and Huangpu Area Education Bureau. In Finland she works as a Project Producer of the Creative Campus Arabia Project - an expert task as an adviser and developer of new learning environments and networks.

Previously a Programme Director of the Creative Sustainability Master`s Degree Programme at the Aalto University. Leading the strategic planning on commencing and developing the new international, interdisciplinary Creative Sustainability Master`s Degree Programme. Leading the course, curriculum, pedagogic and research development of the programme. Planning and teaching the multidisciplinary courses for design, architecture, business and real estate students. Developing academic, business and societal networks in Finland and abroad. Planning and organizing international events like summer schools, workshops and seminars.

Product Manager/SYKLI Environmental School of Finland, (2008 - 2010). Managing the further training programmes on the pedagogy for sustainable development and building sustainable management systems in the Finnish education sector in all educational levels. Consulting companies on environmental management systems.

Developer and Teacher on Sustainable Design Courses, different periods in 2003-2017. Planning and reaching compulsory courses on Sustainable Design (BA and MA) at different higher education organisations like the University of Art and Design Helsinki, Open University (Aalto ARTS), Sustainable Design Courses for Professionals, Professional Training Centre (Aalto PRO since 2010), Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and Saimaa University of Applied Sciences. Consulting the development of the Sustainability management programme of the University of Art and Design Helsinki (different periods 2000 - 2010) and Aalto University (different periods August 2010- July 2015)

Tiina has experience in developing and teaching Art & Design Courses like Textile Design and Production, Textile Printing, Product Design, Color Theory Courses and supervising and evaluating BA and MA thesis on sustainable design, textile design, fashion design, industrial and product design, graphic design.

She has worked as a Project Researcher in several projects for the University of Helsinki and Department of Design, University of Art and Design Helsinki.
