 Co-leading the bachelor core studio “Creative Sustainability” since 2010. First time integrating sustainability directly into undergraduate core design studio in Tongji University.
 Co-lecturing in sustainable design for bachelor and postgraduate classes.
 Supervising both domestic and exchange master students for degree papers in Chinese as well as in English.
 Leading thesis project in spring semesters since 2004 for a group of 5-14 students.

Research

Recent interests focuses on sustainable agriculture via regenerative environments, urban landscape ecology, as well as low-impact rural development, namely eco-tourism, low-carbon mobility. Meanwhile, promoting sustainable consciousness, environmental stewardship and social innovation thru design education and practice. Looking forward to working with young designers in the area of Sustainability and Social Innovation, through approaches of System Design, Biomimicry (Innovation inspired by nature) and Design Thinking.
 RMB 750,000 granted. Low-Carbon Rural Mobility, Shaxi Valley, Yunnan, China. Project Manager. Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation (SDC), within Low Carbon City China (LCCC) framework and with Swiss Hiking Association (SWW). Research, design and planning of rural low-carbon transportation and tourism with realization of selected features, e.g. hiking network, bike rental, local vehicular sharing system, eco-tourism maps & brochures, etc. May 2012 – Mar 2013

 2014 Strategic planning and system design for a potential organic farm near Changzhou, Jiangsu. Establishment of organic agriculture and landscapes in the polluted farming areas of the Yangtze River Delta. 12 Ha.
 2011. Strategic planning and schematic design for Hei Hui Jiang River Walk in Shaxi, Jianchuan, Yunnan, China. About 10 km long linear eco-trail along the river in the Shaxi Valley, Non-profit project.
 2010-2011. Conceptual landscape design for a waterfront wetland open space with an area of 7.71 Ha, on the north shore of the Tai Lake, WuXi, Jiangsu, China
 2010. Urban Design for the south bank of Yao River, NingBo, ZheJiang, China. Including an urban design for street blocks of 10 sqkm, and a waterfront open green space of 350 ha.
 2009. WeiSiJia, trade, display and catering facilities in rural designed landscape, Baoshan District, Shanghai, China. Master plan for 90 Ha.
 2007-2008.NongJiaLe, Baoshan District, Shanghai, China. Design for upgrading of VIP country estate for conference, leisure and catering activities, situated within local agricultural surroundings overshadowed by several 500kV high-voltage power line corridors. Master planning for 30,000 m2, landscape features and 2 buildings totaling 1,000m2 from concept to construction. Completion 2008.
 2005. International Club NanJing, Jiangsu, China. Landscape design, 50,000 M2, extensive outdoor spaces including lake, schematic design through construction drawings, completion 2006.
 2004. New Canal District, ChangZhou, Jiangsu, China. Cooperation with R-Eco. Third prize in the international competition in conceptual planning & urban design for center district in new city expansion.
 2003. Taihu Sunshine Resort: 5-star Resort Hotel Complex on Taihu Lake, Huzhou, Zhejiang, China. 35,300 M2, 200 hotel rooms and amenities, 3 restaurants, conference centre, entertainment centre, wellness/fitness/SPA area, 3 president's villas, and sailing harbor. Won contract in invited design competition and carried project through design development. Completion summer 2005.
 2003. Yitong Phase IV: A neighborhood of three 12~18 story high-rises for residential, commercial uses etc. Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. Schematic design and design development for landscape and architecture, completion 2005.
 2003. Kunshan Golf Driving Range, Jiangsu, China. 3,300 M2. Schematic design through construction drawings, completion 2004.
 2002. Port Ghalib Marina Village: 5-star Resort Hotel Complex Red Sea, Egypt. 90,300 M2, 1000 hotel room and amenities, conference center, wellness/fitness/SPA area, and sailing harbor. Conceptual design and schematic design under supervision of principal, completion 2005.
 2001. Calhoun Street Mixed-use Development: Including 400 bed student housing, University of Cincinnati, OH, U. S. A. Schematic design.

 

Honors
 2011/2013. Bachelor core studio ‘Creative Sustainability’ has been included in the Tongji University’s list of distinguished undergraduate core courses since 2011 and in the list of key courses of Shanghai Education Commission since 2013.
 2011. Supervisor of students’ work, which won the first prize in sustainable architectural studio work (third year) and the best renovation design, National University Students’ Green Architectural Creativity Competition.
 2007. Mentor in joint two-week workshop, organized by Konstfack University, College of Arts, Craft and Design in Stockholm and TongJi University, CAUP, Department of Art and Design, Shanghai. Won golden award in the International Design Competition at the CUMULUS KYOTO 2008 Conference
