Brief Introduction:

    Professor Fuqiang Liu is a in the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, Tongji University. He obtained his Ph.D from the College of Information and Technology, China University of Mining and Technology in 1996. Currently, he is the director of the Broadband Wireless Communication and Multimedia Laboratory, and the vice director of the Embedded System and Service Computing Laboratory, the Key Laboratory of Ministry of Education. He is a Guest Professor of the National Institute of Informatics, Japan. He is also an advanced member of China Society of Image and Graphics and a scientific adviser of the Shanghai government.

     Prof. Liu has undertaken many national research projects, including the National High-tech 863 Project “Study on Vehicle Communication Network Based on Mobile Relay Technique, 2007.10-2009.10,” and the major projects of the National Science and Technology of China “Service Quality Evaluation and Analysis Based on the End-to-end User Experience for 3G & LTE Systems, 2012.1-2013.12” and “Multi-terminal Coordinated Network Control Platform and Key Technologies in Ubiquitous Networks, 2011.1-2013.12.” He has also undertaken many international collaborative research projects, including the China-USA-France-Finland joint project “Research on City Transport Information Network Based on Next Generation Broadband Wireless Technology,” the Tongji-Cisco joint project “Service Access on Highway VANETs,” the Tongji-National Institute of Informatics of Japan joint project “Research on Key Technology of Next Generation Broadband Wireless Access, 2007-2011,” the Tongji-Microsoft joint project “the Mobile Access Technology in Vehicular System,” and the Tongji-UTC joint project “Video Surveillance for Intelligent Traffic Management.” He has been cooperating with Huawei under the project “The Verification Method of Quality of Experience (QoE) of Customers.” Prof. Liu has applied or gained 30 national patents, and published more than 300 papers and 9 books. He has submitted 5 standard drafts and created a national criterion and a local one in Shanghai. He and the Broadband Wireless Communication and Multimedia Laboratory have established an On-vehicle Broadband Wireless Communication System for performance evaluation, which was reported by the Documentary Channel of Shanghai TV Station and was broadcasted on the program Technology EXPO Year on May 8th, 2010.

      Prof. Liu’s main research interests lie in AI, BigData analysis and application, 5G and application in Smart city/Smart vehicle and intelligent transportation system, Design-based innovation and entrepreneurship. He has participated in and organized major international cooperation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China-Italy Transnational Digital Collaborative Design, as well as several scientific research projects of artificial intelligence and 5G IoT application.
