On June 22, the first China Artificial Intelligence Design Theory Research Conference was successfully held at College of Design and Innovation (D&I), Tongji University.

Co-hosted by D&I and World Urban Planning Education Network, the conference was held to delve into the theoretical innovation and practical application of artificial intelligence in the field of design, and to promote further development of design theory in China. With a theme of “Artificial intelligence design theory: Innovation, Integration and Development”, this conference focused on cutting-edge issues in artificial intelligence design theory, bringing together experts and scholars from both domestic and international backgrounds to discuss the integration and development of artificial intelligence and design studies.

Lv Peiming, Executive Vice President of Tongji University attended the opening ceremony of the conference and delivered a welcome speech. Twenty-two experts from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, East China Normal University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Soochow University, China Academy of Art, Nanjing Forestry University, Xi'an University of Architecture Science and Technology, and Tongji University participated in the conference and made keynote speeches.

It is worth mentioning that there was a special book release session, respectively released Academician Wu Zhiqiang’s Education with AI and Professor Zou Qichang’s Design Governance. 

More than 100 experts and scholars from more than 20 colleges and universities across the country and more than 10 media attended. The conference was broadcast live at the same time with over 50,000 online viewers.
