June 29 is the World Industrial Design Day (WIDD), which is an annual event initiated by ICSID in 2007. Its aim is to raise the society’s awareness of industry design around the world, to promote cooperation in this field, and especially to demonstrate the influence of industrial design on economy, society, culture, and environment.

The theme of WIDD 2016 is Youth in Design, and it was celebrated together by 12 countries such as China, Spain, Austria, Japan etc. The Chairman of ICSID Mugendi M’RITHAA sent his congratulations and expressed his appreciation to Shanghai and Tongji, the host, through a video during the event held in D&I.

The theme activities are divided into three sections, which are design education, design city, and design industry.
